Ask anyone in California where the Coachella Valley is located and chances are they have never heard of the Coachella Valley. Ask where Palm Springs is located and they may not know, but they have heard of the celebrity infested city of Palm Springs. When you enter the Coachella Valley, you will pass Palm Springs, you will go through date palm line trees. You enter the subsequent cities the same way through date palm lined streets. Finally at the very end you enter the date palm tree farms. If you arrive in summer or fall chances are you will get to see the bunches of medjool dates and deglet noor dates hanging from the date palm trees. The date palm trees are actually just plain date palms, but most persons call them date palm trees. In these farms the medjool dates are grown for most of the country. About 90% of dates were originally coming from the date palm tees in the Coachella Valley. That may no longer be the case, because hundreds of golf courses and country clubs have taken the place of these date palm tree orchards.
