It is so hot you feel like doing nothing at all. The medjool palms need little tending too, other than insuring they get water, but still you can’t abandon the date palms. They require a lot of supervision and tlc, but hardly anyone comes to the desert at this time of year. A few people get stuck and have no choice. They live here year round, a few live in the desert by choice. If you want to grow medjool dates, you must do so by choice and would require to tend to the date palms or hire the people that would take the time and effort to tend to the date palms, but then in turn you would have to take the time to look after the hired help. There are few things that provide as much gratification as actually creating something of value that manifests itself into something a lot of people love, but the price to pay for growing medjool dates is high.
