Medjool Date palms are very popular in the desert, but apparently they are very popular throughout Southern California. As you drive down Bristol in Santa Ana you run across rows and rows of date palms. Then you drive into Newport Beach and at the Corner of Alton and Jamboree there is a bunch of new date palms. You go up to Irvine on Jamboree and there are close 100 date palms at the shopping center. The medjool date palms are popular because of the fact that they can be very easy to maintain. The South is well suited for date palms, so it is only a matter of time before the number of date palms becomes big enough such that people will recognize the not so famous royal Medjool Date.
