You would think that hand picking tens of thousands of medjool dates would take a while, but such is not the case. The medjool dates were picked and the harvest is over. The palms are now free of dates, and we wait until next year when the date harvesting begins again. Now is the tourist season, tens of thousands of tourists come, tour the desert and wonder what dates are. They try a few and many become big fans of dates. Based on traffic it appears that the economy is faring much better.
