I woke up to a very dark morning. It was about 6:30, I tried to go back to sleep, but couldn’t fall asleep again. My daughter woke up and said it was too hot, she too could not go back to sleep. I turned the TV on and we watched the smurfs. Have not seen the smurfs in ages. I often wish I could go back and time and be a kid again. Life was so much easier back then, childhood is wonderful, you just don’t appreciate it until you have to work day in and day out, especially in an economy when you can’t afford to complaint about your job. There is way to complaint, take a break, take vacation or do anything to jeopardize your job. Farming is a little different, there is no one to complaint about. I suppose you can complaint to the hares, the snakes, and the birds, but they will not listen much. You can talk the date palms if you happen to grow medjool dates or other dates for that matter. Or it could be avocados, tomatoes or whatever it happens to be that you grown. We got to school right on time today, the bell rang about 30 seconds before getting there, the teacher was late today. I refer to her as Mrs. Slowpope, and why would she ask for conferences with the parents of the kids ? The kids are are five years old, do you really need to have conferences when your kids are learning their ABCs ? I can appreciate over reactive parents wanting to do the best for their kids, but it seemed a bit too much for me. Oh, well the good thing is I got back in time to get my other child to his school on time. He hates being late and so far has never been late. My daughter did not want to to go school today, she pulled the my stomach hurts, and I am sick, I can’t go to school today trick. It didn’t work. I am inclined to not take them at times, I just want to sleep in from time to time, especially when I have a bad night, but what can you do about it, you can’t afford to take such a break. Fortunately, she goes to a really well run school , where tomorrow, where it is forecasted to rain, is walk to school day. Sigh.
