Dates fruit, not people dates are hot in the summer. The weather is bad for people and dates (the fruit). Generally dates can be stored for prolonged periods of time in cool dry places. Dates can even be frozen and used at a later time. The longer the dates are stored the sweeter they tend to get. Dates do dry out if stored for prolonged periods of time, but dates can last a year in storage. In the heat dates don’t store well, they will disintegrate.
