Medjool Dates Fruit, Dried Fruit, Guava and Other Power Foods

The weather has been really great for dates in Southern California.  Up to 102 in some areas, and it is dry, great for medjool dates and date palms, not so much for those of us without AC.  The irony it is more comfortable in the desert where the dates are grown.  In the desert you don’t sleep under a medjool date orchard, you sleep in a modern home with air conditioning, probably not so in the middle east, but in the Coachella Valley it is comfortable indoors.  In many other areas with older homes there is no AC.  Ironic, I rather be in the desert, because 99% of all housing units have good AC systems.

I was watching this movie and I was wondering if  Australia has medjool dates or any other type of date.  It seems like an ideal place to grow dates.  There is a lot of desert in Australia.  If there is water to irrigate the dates then clearly they can grow nice date orchards.
